I’ve always been drawn to the stories behind places.
Not just where should I go?, but why is this place the way it is?
Why are the streets shaped like that? Why does this tradition exist? How did this city become what it is? What happened here before tourists arrived?
I’ve spent years travelling, living abroad, getting lost, asking questions, researching places, and learning that the things I remember most from a journey are rarely the things I expected to remember.
Sometimes it’s a conversation with a stranger. Sometimes it’s a tiny detail in an old building. Sometimes it’s finally understanding the history behind something I’ve walked past a hundred times.
Those are the moments I want to share.
Why I created Roamwise
I’ve always loved travel guides, but I’ve often found myself wanting more from them.
Sure, I want to know how to get somewhere, how much it will cost, what I should pack, and what mistakes I should avoid.
But I also want someone to tell me why the place matters.
That’s where Roamwise came from.
I created it as a space for practical travel advice alongside the stories, history, people, and culture that make a destination worth understanding.
I don’t want to tell you that somewhere is a hidden gem when it isn’t. I don’t want to pretend every destination is perfect. And I definitely don’t want to give you another list of places you supposedly have to photograph.
I want to tell you what I genuinely think is worth knowing.
Travel deeper. Understand more.
For me, meaningful travel isn’t about seeing as much as possible.
It’s about seeing differently.
The more I learn about a place, the more interesting it becomes. A street isn’t just a street anymore. A temple isn’t just a beautiful building. A bowl of food can tell you something about migration, geography, religion, or generations of tradition.
And suddenly, you’re not just visiting somewhere.
You’re beginning to understand it.
That’s what I hope Roamwise can do for you.
